What to send us for an office move quote
Send the current and new addresses, the number of workstations, any server or network cabinet, and the dates your landlord gives you. We reply with a truck, a crew plan and a time estimate you can take to your manager.
What makes a commercial move different from a house move
In a house move the worry is usually a scratched dresser. In an office the bigger cost is downtime, because every hour the phones and laptops are in boxes is an hour nobody is billing, selling or answering customers. So office moves get planned around the business calendar, and a Friday afternoon pack, a weekend move and a Monday morning restart is a common shape.
Buildings matter more too. Office towers and business parks along the QEW and Trafalgar Road corridors often have rules about which entrance movers use, when the freight elevator is free, and what paperwork the property manager needs before a truck is allowed at the loading dock. We ask for those rules early, because a missing form is the usual reason a crew sits at the dock.
If you need the move to happen in the evening or on a weekend so the office never closes, ask us when you request the quote. We will tell you what we can schedule for your date rather than promise a time slot up front.
What we handle on an office move
Workstations and desks
Sit-stand desks, L-shaped desks, return units and panel systems are taken apart, the hardware is bagged and labelled per desk, and everything is rebuilt in the new layout.
Chairs, tables and boardrooms
Task chairs are wrapped in stretch wrap and stacked. Boardroom tables come apart where the design allows it and travel flat with corner protection.
Computers and IT equipment
Monitors, towers, docks, printers and phones are wrapped and boxed together per person so each desk can be set up from one labelled bundle. Your IT person disconnects and reconnects the network; we move the hardware safely between the two.
Files and records
Filing cabinets can travel with the drawers emptied into labelled boxes. Locking cabinets stay locked and the keys stay with you.
Reception, kitchen and storeroom
Reception desks, break-room tables, fridges that you have defrosted, shelving units and supply cupboards all go on the same truck and get placed in the rooms you mark on the plan.
What to leave behind
Old chairs, broken shelving and the printer nobody has used in two years can go out as junk removal on the same booking, so you are not paying to move things you will throw out next month.

An office job, staged and ready to load
This photo is from one of our office moves: desks and chairs stretch-wrapped and grouped in one empty room, with boxes lined up by the door. Staging like this before the truck backs in means loading becomes a straight line from the room to the truck, and on a commercial move that staging is where most of the time gets saved.
Questions to ask your building before move day
Property managers handle movers every week and most have a standard checklist. Ask for it a week or two ahead so nobody is hunting for paperwork with the truck already parked.
Certificate of insurance
Ask whether the building needs a certificate of insurance from the moving company, and what names and coverage it must show. Send us the request and we will tell you what we can provide.
Freight elevator booking
Book the elevator at both buildings for the full window, and ask whether it needs padding or a building staff member present.
Loading dock or parking
Confirm where the truck can stand, for how long, and whether the dock height suits a cube truck.
Allowed hours
Some buildings only allow moves after business hours or on weekends. Find out before you pick a date.
Floor and wall protection
Ask whether the landlord expects corridor or door-frame protection and who supplies it.
Rough out the cost of your office move
Pick a truck and an hour count to see the cost with 13% HST. For a multi-trip office move, add the hours of each trip together. Treat the number as a budgeting figure; the confirmed estimate comes after we have seen your list or floor plan.
1. Pick a truck
2. Start from a home size (planning range)
Hour ranges are a planning guide, not a quote: real time depends on stairs, elevators, how packed you are and the drive between homes. Packing materials are extra. Minimum booking time is confirmed when you reserve.

A simple timeline for your office move
- 1
Four to six weeks out
Pick the move date with your landlord, ask both buildings for their mover rules, and send us your inventory for a quote.
- 2
Two weeks out
Mark each desk and room on the new floor plan with a number. Order boxes and labels. Tell staff which day to pack personal items.
- 3
Move day
IT disconnects, we wrap and disassemble, load, drive, and rebuild desks in the numbered spots. Boxes land on the matching desk.
- 4
After the move
Book mounting for screens in the boardroom, or a clean of the old unit before you hand back the keys.
Moving the office, cleaning the old unit and setting up the new one
Commercial leases often require the space to be handed back clean. We can do the office move, a deep clean of the unit you are leaving, and TV mounting, furniture assembly or camera installation at the new space, all from one quote.
Your questions, answered
Before you book
Do you move offices after hours or on weekends?
Ask us when you request a quote. Tell us your building's allowed moving hours and the date you have in mind, and we will confirm what we can schedule.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?
Insurance is included in our moving rates. Send us your property manager's certificate request with the names and wording they need, and we will confirm what we can provide before you book the elevator.
Do you disconnect computers and network equipment?
Your IT person or provider should disconnect and reconnect computers, servers and network gear. We wrap, box, label and move the equipment, then place it at the right desk.
Is reassembling desks extra?
No. Furniture disassembly and reassembly are part of the hourly rate, including workstations and boardroom tables.
How do we keep the downtime short?
Have staff pack their own desks the day before, number every desk on the new floor plan, book the elevators early and let IT know the exact delivery time. The crew then spends its hours lifting rather than waiting.
Can you take away furniture we are not keeping?
Yes. Old chairs, desks and shelving can go out as junk removal on the same visit. Send a photo of the pile for a price.
