Closing-day steps for a new Milton build
You rarely get to choose the hour your new-build keys are released. These steps help avoid a loaded truck sitting in the driveway while you wait.

Confirm the key release with your lawyer
Closing funds have to clear before you get possession. Ask your lawyer for a realistic release time, then book the truck for after it, not before.

Do the walkthrough first
Your pre-delivery inspection is easier in an empty house. Note scuffs and deficiencies before furniture hides them.

Protect the new floors
Fresh hardwood and new carpet mark easily. We wrap furniture before it leaves the old place; put down runners in the main path if the builder has not.

Check the garage and driveway
In Milton's newer streets the truck often parks on the street because the driveway is short or shared with a neighbour's. Tell us if there is a no-parking side.

Assemble before you unpack
Beds and tables get rebuilt as part of the hourly rate, so the bedrooms are usable the first night even if the boxes wait.

Townhomes, stacked towns and three-storey layouts
Neighbourhoods like Hawthorne Village, Willmott, Coates, Clarke, Ford and Harrison are full of freehold townhouses and narrow detached homes. Many put the living room on the second floor and the bedrooms on the third, with a garage and entry at street level. Every couch, dresser and mattress climbs two flights, and that stair work is where Milton moves spend their time.
Older parts of town such as Old Milton, Dorset Park and Timberlea have more bungalows and backsplits, which are easier to carry through but often have smaller doorways.
Lots of Milton households commute toward Mississauga, Oakville or Toronto, so moves often get squeezed into one weekend day. If you want the beds built and the kitchen boxes unpacked before Monday, ask us to add that time when we quote.

How long does it take to drive a moving truck from Oakville to Milton?
The route is 23.0 km from central Oakville and takes about 28 minutes without traffic, using Highway 407 or Trafalgar Road and Steeles. Rush hour can add to that.
Can you move us on the day we close on a new build?
Yes, as long as the date is open. Send us your closing date early and confirm the key release time with your lawyer so we can set the arrival window after you have possession.
Do you handle moves that start and finish inside Milton?

Yes. Disassembly and reassembly of beds, tables and similar pieces are part of every package, not an extra.
Can someone clean our old place after we leave for Milton?
Yes. A move-out clean can go on the same booking, so the home you are leaving is cleaned once it is empty and you can head straight to the new one.
