Why new-build homes need a dust clean
Builders do a construction clean before handing over keys, but it is aimed at debris, not detail. Drywall sanding dust is very fine. It sits on top of door frames, inside kitchen drawers, on stair spindles and in window tracks, and it comes back out of the floor vents when the furnace first runs.
The easiest time to deal with it is the gap between possession and move-in, when the rooms are empty. If you have even one day between getting keys and the truck arriving, that is the day to book the clean.
A move-in checklist for a new Milton home
