Walk the furniture route in advance
Check turns as well as widths
Measure narrow doorways and photograph stair landings where furniture must turn. The width of a sofa alone does not tell you whether it can be carried around a corner. Mention low ceilings and handrails, and ask about disassembly before assuming a large piece will fit.
Pack cartons for safe carrying
Use smaller boxes for heavy contents and larger ones for lighter items. Close and label every carton so it can be handled without loose pieces falling out. Keep hallways, stairs and landings clear throughout the move, and arrange a separate safe space for pets and children.
Describe the outdoor approach
Let the team know whether the entrance is reached by steps, a long path or a shared access lane. Send photographs if a written description is unclear. On the day, keep the agreed path accessible and check local parking requirements rather than assuming the vehicle can stop directly outside.

Make furniture assembly easier
Photograph furniture before taking it apart and keep the hardware labelled with the matching piece. The published moving packages include furniture assembly and disassembly; describe complex or damaged items beforehand so the team can discuss what is practical. Empty drawers when advised and remove loose objects from shelves. At the destination, choose final positions for beds and large furniture before the cartons cover the floor. If your move also includes a rented vehicle or moving help without the full vehicle package, explain that clearly in the request because the hourly truck packages do not automatically describe that separate service.

Can I book help to load my own rental truck?
Ask for moving help and share the rental vehicle size, loading location, stairs and your expected inventory. The team will quote that scope separately. The three published moving packages include a vehicle, so do not assume those prices apply unchanged to labour-only help.
How much do movers in Ajax cost?
Our vehicle packages are $100, $120 or $130 per hour with two movers. The final total depends on billable time and agreed extras. HST and packing materials are additional; ask about minimum hours and travel billing before booking.
Can I add packing to my Ajax move?
Yes. Tell us which rooms or fragile items need help, and whether you already have suitable boxes. Packing support and materials are discussed separately from the moving package so you can choose the scope you need.
Is insurance included in the hourly package?
Insurance is listed in the published packages. Ask the team for the applicable coverage, exclusions and claim process before booking, particularly for fragile or high-value items. An included insurance line does not mean every item has unlimited coverage.
