Book the move-out clean before your key handover
Send the address, home size, your key-handover date and a few photos of the kitchen and bathrooms. We reply with a price and a time slot that falls after the movers leave.
What tenants, landlords, sellers and buyers each need from the clean
If you are a tenant, the goal is the condition the landlord expects at the final walk-through. Landlords commonly inspect the unit at move-out, and the kitchen and bathrooms are where they look first. Take photos once the clean is done; they are your record of how you left the place.
Landlords between tenants book it for turnover. A clean unit photographs better for the listing and starts the next tenancy with a clear baseline, which makes the next move-out inspection easier for everyone.
For a sale, a clean in closing week is a courtesy many buyers notice, and some agreements of purchase and sale say the home should be left in a clean condition. Your agent can tell you what yours says.
Buyers and new tenants book the move-in version, which happens before the boxes arrive. It is far easier to clean inside kitchen cabinets and the fridge when they are empty, and it means the first things you unpack go onto surfaces you know are clean.
Book the clean with the move
The timing of a move-out clean depends on the movers finishing, and that is hard to coordinate across two companies. We do both, so the cleaner starts when the truck is loaded, and the new home can get its own clean, TV mounting and furniture set-up from the same team.
Move-out vs move-in cleaning
| Move-out clean | Move-in clean | |
|---|---|---|
| When | After the last load leaves, before key handover | Before the first box comes through the door |
| Main aim | Pass the walk-through, leave a good record | Start fresh in a home someone else lived in |
| Focus | Appliances, cabinets, walls marked by furniture, floors | Kitchen interiors, bathrooms, closets you will fill first |
| Who books it | Tenants, sellers, landlords between tenants | Buyers, new tenants, landlords before a showing |
How to make the clean go faster
Empty everything
Cabinets, closets, the fridge and the freezer need to be fully empty. Anything left behind slows the clean down.
Defrost the freezer
Turn it off the night before if it frosts up, with a towel underneath, so the ice is gone when we arrive.
Leave the power and water on
We need hot water, lights and outlets for the vacuum. Ask your utility not to disconnect until after the handover.
Deal with what you are not taking
An old mattress or a broken shelf in the garage can go with our junk removal; ask us to book the pickup alongside the clean.
Your questions, answered
Before you book
How much is move-out cleaning in the GTA?
It is priced by the job. The size of the home, the number of bathrooms and the condition of the oven and fridge drive the price. Send photos of the kitchen and bathrooms and we reply with a firm price.
Do you clean inside the oven and fridge?
Yes. Inside appliances are part of every move-out and move-in clean, along with the inside of cabinets, drawers and closets.
Will this get my deposit back?
We cannot speak for your landlord, but a full move-out clean covers what landlords commonly look at during the final walk-through. Photograph each room when we finish so you have a record.
Can the clean happen right after the movers finish?
Often, if the move finishes early enough. Book the move and the clean together and we schedule the cleaner to start once the home is empty. Ask us when you request a quote.
Do you wash walls?
We spot-clean marks and scuffs on walls, doors and trim. If walls need repainting rather than wiping, that is outside a clean; tell us what you see in the photos and we will tell you what is likely to come off and what will not.
Can you clean a condo with a booked elevator?
Yes. Book the elevator or let the concierge know a cleaner is coming, and tell us where visitors park.
