What to ask your building before a condo haul
- 1
Elevator booking
Most towers require a reserved service elevator for anything larger than a suitcase. Ask how long the slot is and how far ahead to book.
- 2
Certificate of insurance
Some property managers want one from any contractor using the elevator. Ask what they need and we will tell you how we can help.
- 3
Loading dock and parking
Find out where a truck can stop and for how long, and whether the dock has a height limit.
- 4
Locker access
Lockers are often on a parking level. Make sure you have the key or fob, and tell us which level.
Clearing condo lockers and balconies
Condo lockers are where bicycles, broken patio chairs, paint cans from the last renovation and boxes from three moves ago end up. They are small, so a full one is rarely a large load, but it is awkward to clear because every item has to come up the elevator and through the lobby.
Balconies are the other spot: a dead barbecue, a rusted bistro set, planters full of soil. Most of that we can take; a barbecue's propane tank cannot go on our truck, so disconnect it and take it to a depot or exchange.
Detached and semi-detached homes in Erin Mills, Meadowvale, Churchill Meadows or Lorne Park are the opposite: no elevator, but much bigger volumes from basements, garages and backyard sheds.
Send your elevator slot and photos
Send the building address, your slot and photos of what is going. We confirm a firm price and whether we can work inside that window.
Items we take from Mississauga homes
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Furniture, mattresses, rugs | Taken |
| Boxes, bags of household goods, clothing | Taken |
| Electronics and small appliances | Taken |
| Patio furniture and bikes | Taken |
| Propane tanks, paint, solvents, pool chemicals, batteries | Not taken: Peel Region household hazardous waste drop-off |
Peel Region runs the hazardous waste program for Mississauga residents. Check the Region's site for the nearest location and days.
Condo garbage rooms and city pickup
Your building's garbage chute and bins are for daily household waste, and bulky-item disposal is usually the resident's job. For houses, Peel Region's curbside program has its own limits and bulky-item rules. Check your building rules or Peel's current program before setting anything out.
Your questions, answered
Before you book
Can you clear a condo locker in Mississauga?
Yes. Tell us the building and the parking level, send a photo of the open locker, and book the elevator. We price it from the photo.
Does my building need a certificate of insurance?
Many do. Ask your property manager what they require from contractors and send us the request with your booking.
Will you take a barbecue off my balcony?
We can take the grill itself. The propane tank must be disconnected and taken to a depot or exchange, because we do not carry pressurised tanks.
How much is junk removal in Mississauga?
It is priced by the job from your photos or list. Elevator time and access also matter, so tell us the building details when you ask.
What if the elevator booking is short?
Tell us the length of the slot. If the load will not fit in it, we will tell you before the day so you can book a longer one.
Can you clean the unit after clearing it?
Yes. A move-out clean after the haul is common for rentals being handed back. Our Mississauga cleaning page covers it.
Is there a crew based in Mississauga?
No. Mississauga jobs are booked individually on request. Send your date and we will confirm whether it works.
