Common Brampton junk jobs
Basement unit after a tenant leaves
Beds, a couch, kitchen table, bags of household goods. Usually a side or back entrance, which helps.
Garage reset
Old tires without rims, broken bikes, boxes and furniture stored after a renovation upstairs.
Appliance swap
A new fridge or washer arrived and the old one is still in the garage.
Room changeover
A bedroom being turned over for a grandparent or a new baby, with old furniture to remove.
Access through side entrances
In Springdale, Castlemore, Fletcher's Meadow, Sandalwood and Brampton East, many basement units have their own side door with a narrow walkway and a few steps down. That is usually easier than carrying through the main house, but tight for a sectional or a queen box spring. Tell us which entrance we should use and send a photo of the stairs. If the landlord upstairs and the tenant below share a driveway, let both know when the truck is coming so nobody is parked in.
Older homes in Bramalea and around Downtown Brampton tend to have smaller garages and interior basement stairs, so we plan carrying routes inside the house and protect the floors on the way.
Clearing a basement unit after a tenant leaves
Photograph each room and the side entrance and send your address. We confirm a firm price and whether your date fits before the next tenant.
Items we can and cannot take in Brampton
| Item | Can we take it? |
|---|---|
| Beds, mattresses, sofas, dining sets | Yes |
| Fridges, washers, dryers, stoves | Usually; mention them up front |
| Boxes, bags, clothing, toys | Yes |
| Tires | Ask; send a photo with the count |
| Paint, oil, propane, batteries, chemicals | No: Peel Region household hazardous waste drop-off |
Peel Region runs hazardous waste drop-off for Brampton households. Check the Region's site for current details.
When curbside is not enough
Peel Region's curbside program, including bulky-item pickup, has its own rules and limits, and they differ from Halton's. Check Peel's current program first. A one-time haul makes sense when a whole basement unit has to be emptied before a new lease, or the pile will not fit the program.
If you rent out the basement, a clear-out between tenants is also a chance to note wear: a cracked tile, a loose cabinet door, a towel bar pulled from the wall. Ask whether our handyman service can take care of those small fixes on the same visit.
Your questions, answered
Before you book
Can you clear a basement apartment in Brampton?
Yes, on request. Send photos of every room and the entrance, plus the date it must be empty.
How is the price worked out?
Per job, from your photos or list. Heavy appliances and tight stairs affect it, so show them in the photos.
Do you take old appliances?
Usually, yes. Tell us what they are and where they sit, and empty and defrost any fridge or freezer first.
What about the tenant's leftover belongings?
Make sure the tenancy has ended and the items are yours to dispose of under Ontario's rules before you book a haul.
Can you clean the unit after it is cleared?
Yes. A move-out clean after the haul gets the unit ready to show. See our Brampton cleaning page.
Do you have staff in Brampton?
No. Brampton jobs are booked with our GTA team. Send your date and we will confirm.
