Pets at home? Make a simple plan for the visit.
A cleaning, repair or moving visit brings open doors, unfamiliar sounds and equipment. A small amount of planning helps everyone work comfortably.

At a glance
Your quick checklist
- Pet details shared when booking
- A separate comfortable space arranged
- Supplies moved from work areas
- One person responsible for doors and access
Tell the team before arrival
Mention the pets in the home and anything that affects access. A cat that slips through open doors needs a different plan from a dog that stays with another household member. You know your pet’s routine best; explain it rather than expecting a visiting team to guess.
Choose a quiet space
Arrange a secure room or another suitable place away from the work. Keep water and familiar items accessible, and tell the team which door must remain closed. If every room is being worked on, discuss the order in advance or arrange for the pet to be elsewhere.
Separate supplies from the work area
Move bowls, toys and bedding out of the rooms being cleaned or repaired. Ask how long an area needs to remain out of use based on the products and work involved. Do not rely on an unspecific “pet-safe” description instead of the actual product directions.
Assign one person to manage doors
On moving day, doors may be open repeatedly. Give one household member responsibility for the pet arrangements rather than making it a shared assumption. After the visit, check gates and doors before returning to the normal routine. The service team can follow agreed instructions, but pet care should have a clear owner.
